I purchased this pillow for my elderly father who has a hard time sitting on hard surfaces or even on the couch. As I normally do, I really spent a lot of time researching, to find the best pillow for my dad.  Let me just say that he absolutely loves it. It's been very helpful for him to sit comfortably on a wooden chair, and as I already said, he can't even sit on the couch for too long let alone on a hard surface. He now can comfortably sit at the dining table and enjoy his meal with the family.  After over a year of usage, it still looks great and without any tears; also, it has retained its plushness. I love it!

The day after this pillow came I had to drive four hours to Idaho. I was dreading the drive because of the pain I would be in, but I put down the pillow, sat down and drove off. Once I got to my destination I was expecting the normal pain that comes from sitting for a long time when I needed to exit the car, shockingly there was practically no pain. I was surprised. Maybe it was a fluke? But no, I have used this pillow every day since, over a week now and my tailbone pain has all but vanished. Everywhere I go I bring this pillow if I need to sit down, yes even to the dentist office yesterday. I am not messing up this good thing that I have going. I bought this because I have a very bad back. Recently I started having severe discomfort in my tailbone area while riding in a car. I tried everything. Muscle relaxers, chiropractic care, pain relievers etc. I’ve seen the doctor for it and there’s really nothing to be done. I finally found this pillow and thank goodness I did! It provides just enough support that I can sit comfortably without my lower back/tailbone area pinching the nerve. I can easily adjust it if I am still uncomfortable and need to switch positions just a bit. If you’ve tried everything else and you just can’t stand it anymore, try this out. It may help you too. Can't live without it..

After falling and bruising my tailbone / coccyx, I was in so much pain! Works incredibly well :)))

Wish I discovered this sooner. I'm new to the donut-pillow world so this is my first one.   INSTANT relief for my butt bone. I've been limping around (for Months and months -- once could say for years and years because there were jobs I've had with Terrible office chairs and I bet this would have made a world of difference, had I known!!) I hope this review helps other people out there relieve their pains in the butt!! :))))))  I googled "deck chair pillow for coccyx pain" because my actual tail bone was Killing me and then when I stood up, it was difficult to walk because it was so sore. I sit at the computer all day for work ---- I paid over $200 for an ergonomic chair about 2 years ago because I thought it was the right thing to do when you spend most of your waking time at the computer desk ... every ergonomic chair needs to come with one of these. Very Effective!

I didn't have pain in my tailbone while sitting on the couch or standing...but after sitting at my computer when I went to stand up, it hurt like crazy. I had cushions, pillows, tried ways to keep my tailbone from being compressed, but it didn't help. After sitting a bit at the computer when I'd go to stand up, it hurt a LOT. I tried to stand slowly to ease the pain but any way I did it I had to get through that initial pain burst. Once I was up there was no problem. I bought this Smartpillow a couple of days ago for myself for a Christmas present to me but decided not to wait to try it. It's great! No pain whatsoever when I go to stand up. I got to remove the pillows and cushions that were constantly sliding off my chair that I previously used and just use the donut. It was worth every penny. Literally no pain. Just plop it on the chair and it stays and I can sit and stand without of thinking of my tailbone.
